Proudly sponsored by Michelini Wines, La Fiera 2016 kicks off with Celebrazione Michelini, the festival launch party on Tuesday 17 May.
With its glorious autumn days mixed with spectacular food, wine, art and heritage displays and commedia dell' arte ... Myrtleford is once again set to host the region’s premier Italian festival this May as La Fiera returns for its 8th year May 17-22, 2016. With returning favourites and new events, this will truly be six days of fun - The Italian Way!
The festival continues the tradition of cultural delights such as the Nonni in Cucina cooking demonstrations, Wild Mushroom Forages, and an Italian street procession with all of its colour and pageantry.
Once again, the peak activity day is Saturday with the Food & Wine Festa held in the Piazza with a distinct village atmosphere. Alpine Valley Vigneron members will be on hand with their outstanding local wines, as will regional produce, together with mouth-watering traditional dishes from local Italian clubs.
Special events will be on throughout the day, including free face painting, balloon animals, pizza dough throwing demonstrations and the coveted barista race. Saturdays entertainment will delight the crowd with sounds from Italy from the many performers.
"La Fiera is proud to once again to develop a program of events that will delight everyone and each year our festival grows and becomes more exciting," La Fiera spokesman John Reynolds-Smith said. "We have a wonderful range of entertainment. La Fiera is becoming the one event in the Northeast not to be missed!"
Myrtleford’s Italian ‘La fiera" festival celebrates Italy’s beauty and diversity through wine, music, sport, gastronomy and folklore. On the menu, a great number of varied and fascinating activities that will let you dive into the culture of this community:
