Matt Kilby comes with well over a decade of experience in the wine industry. Fresh out of high school, Matts first job was in liquor retail and it is there that the love affair with wine began. Years exploring the classic varieties and iconic Australian regions laid the foundation for a passion for wine that never really let go.
Matt is a firm believer in wines that ‘tell a story’ –
“The concept of terroir is that whatever inputs go into making wine are ultimately borne out in the final product. Everything from the formation of the land in which the fruit is grown through to the individual season and the influence of the winemaker can be seen in a glass of wine.”
With Matt’s expert guidance, the Michelini family’s Buckland Valley vineyards and winemaking traditions of some 150 years provide a heritage that will continue to be honored under the Michelini label.

Ilario is the eldest son to founder Emo Michelini. Since leaving school at 15, Ilario was right there at the beginning for the Michelini Wines story in Australia. From planting the first vines, to expanding the vineyard and overseeing the construction of the Winery and Cellar Door. Still to this day Ilario oversees and manages all new capital aquisitions and maintenance and repair operations.
Dino is the youngest of Emo’s children. Having a Diploma in Viticulture Dino manages the family vineyard however his primary responsibilities are the running of all the finance activities of Michelini Wines. Still to this day you can still see him in the vineyard putting in the extra work, just for the love and art of growing grapes. His passion for grapes started at a very early age with most weekends and afterschool being spent up at the family farm with his dad Emo and brother Ilario.
Dino is married to Marlinda and they have 2 children, Jade and Kane. Now a grandfather Dino loves spending time with the grandchildren and taking them for joyrides in the tractor. Dino also has a passion for motorsport and hotrods. His pride and joy is a GTS Monaro.
